Varsity Boys Basketball- A good week of practice, but more importantly with our win over Marion on Thursday we clinched the conference title outright. However, we still have a big week with our final home game on Tuesday against Evart. We then travel to Beal City on Thursday to close out the conference and regular season. A double win week would give us a perfect conference season at 14-0. That would be two seasons back to back undefeated. Plus the girls varsity and varsity football already have gone undefeated in conference play!
The J.V. team also beat Marion this past week and played really well. Our goal is to play well this week and beat Evart and Beal City. We will need to focus and be mentally tough.
Advance P.E. and High School P.E- Both classes are going well. We will be lifting on Monday and Wednesday. Remember no school on Friday. I have a new weight lifting plan that will go into effect this week! These points will count towards a weekly grade! I still have some students who fail to dress and participate on a regular basis! Dress and participation are big in this class.
Advance Shop- Just help me to motivate your son/daughter to keep working on their project as we wind down this year. We only have 13 weeks left in the year! Seniors have less then that to go. Working everyday in class is critical to their grade. Each day is worth 20pts. Some students have had their grade drop lately because of work ethic.
General Shop- Students need to get their hardware, hinges knobs and/orhandles for there projects!!! Almost everyone has everthing built now and it's time to assemble their project. Projects look good and the students for the most are working hard!

Week of February 20th -24th
Varsity Bsaketball- Had a great week of practice and games! We beat Manton in a big coference game on Tuesday and capped off the week with a convincing win on friday against NMC! The win on friday allowed us to capture at least a share of the conference title. A win on thursday over Marion gives us the title outright!!! This makes our 11th year in a row of winning the conference outright or at least sharing! A win over Marion, Evart and Beal City in our three remaining games would allow us to have won the last 28 conference games in the conference straight. Districts start on March 8th in Clare against Lake City.
The J.V boys have struggled this year but continue to play hard. We are currently 6-11, but I still say this team has all the pieces to be very good by the time they are on varsity. They are getting better and learning the system. They will contiue to fill out get stronger and taller and more coordinated. GREAT YOUNG MEN!!!1
General Shop-This class is doing well and projects are progressing. I think everyone except a few in each class are done building everything. We need to get hardware in and start putting it on soon! I like to assemble the project before we stain. Please help me to encourage your son or daughter to sand their project alot before we stain. This will only make it look better in the long run.
Advance Shop- STUDENTS NEED TO FOCUS AND GET DOWN TO WORK!!! THE WINTER BLUES ARE DRAGGING ON THESE KIDS.We have some nice projects but my concern is getting them done so they look good and are paid for by the end of the year. Please long on to check your grade or your students grade because grades are based on daily work in class! Some students are not working up to potential!
Physical Education Classes- Everyday a grade is entered into the grade book for that days participation in whatever it is we are doing for the day. It may be weightlifting or a indoor sport. It is based on being in class on time, dressing to participate in class and actually participating. Each day is worth 20 points!! I have alot of students who don't dress and/or don't particitpate. Please take the time to check your son/daughters grade on line. Weightlifting is usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Week of Feb. 6th-10th
Varsity Boys Basketball
Three big conference wins in a row! Beating NMC , Beal City and Pine River. The Ramblers now have a two game lead in the league! Were looking to win outright or win a share of our 11th straight conference title! Against Pine River I saw a glimpse of what I have been waiting for all year. We played perhaps our best defensive game of the year and ran the floor really well with good balance scoring on offense.
Lake City on Thursday Jan. 10th Come support the Ramblers!!!
J.V Basketball
The J.V played their best game of the year against Beal City despite pushing them into overtime. Beal City has been crushing everyone in the league this year. Despite the 5-9 record I really like the pieces on this years J.V team. They have size, quickness and raw talent that is getting better!!
Advance Shop- Students are hitting the winter blahs it appears. The motivation is dropping alittle, maybe it's because of last weeks homecoming activities! Please help encourage your son /or daughter to keep working everyday!
General Shop- Students are dove tailing their drawers! This can be a little challenging, but students are doing a good job! Please help them get their hardware because they need it when their done with the drawer!!!I have the slides, they need to get knobs, handles and hinges.
P.E. Classes- Students need to dress and participate!! They also need to show respect to other students and Mr.Koopman!!
Students also need to be willing to try new activities, lift weights etc. Everyday we stretch, do pushups(20), sit-ups(25) and run 5 laps! After that we do an activitiy like volleyball, floor hockey and soccer. Please remember the gym is crowed because we share it with different classes at the same time and each of my P.E. classes has over 35 students. So cooperation respect are critical!!
