Varsity Bsaketball- Had a great week of practice and games! We beat Manton in a big coference game on Tuesday and capped off the week with a convincing win on friday against NMC! The win on friday allowed us to capture at least a share of the conference title. A win on thursday over Marion gives us the title outright!!! This makes our 11th year in a row of winning the conference outright or at least sharing! A win over Marion, Evart and Beal City in our three remaining games would allow us to have won the last 28 conference games in the conference straight. Districts start on March 8th in Clare against Lake City.
The J.V boys have struggled this year but continue to play hard. We are currently 6-11, but I still say this team has all the pieces to be very good by the time they are on varsity. They are getting better and learning the system. They will contiue to fill out get stronger and taller and more coordinated. GREAT YOUNG MEN!!!1
General Shop-This class is doing well and projects are progressing. I think everyone except a few in each class are done building everything. We need to get hardware in and start putting it on soon! I like to assemble the project before we stain. Please help me to encourage your son or daughter to sand their project alot before we stain. This will only make it look better in the long run.
Advance Shop- STUDENTS NEED TO FOCUS AND GET DOWN TO WORK!!! THE WINTER BLUES ARE DRAGGING ON THESE KIDS.We have some nice projects but my concern is getting them done so they look good and are paid for by the end of the year. Please long on to check your grade or your students grade because grades are based on daily work in class! Some students are not working up to potential!
Physical Education Classes- Everyday a grade is entered into the grade book for that days participation in whatever it is we are doing for the day. It may be weightlifting or a indoor sport. It is based on being in class on time, dressing to participate in class and actually participating. Each day is worth 20 points!! I have alot of students who don't dress and/or don't particitpate. Please take the time to check your son/daughters grade on line. Weightlifting is usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
