Welcome to a new year! I look forward to building something in wood shop with your son /daughter this year. I also plan to work your son /daughter in P.E. class so they feel better and are stronger!
Advance P.E/High School P.E - Student will be getting a copy of expectations from me on the first day! This will cover the necessary dress for participation, lockers and class expectations. Everyday we will stretch and perform some physical exercises! Students will be tested in the areas of sit-ups, push-ups, mile run, squat, bench press, and some type of flexibility at the begining of the year. The goal here is to see how many of each exercise they can do now with an emphasis on increasing the total by the end of the class. There will be some days where we play different sports and on other days we will be in the weight room. Participation is the most important part of this class!!!! Everyday a student gets a daily grade based on the above!
General Shop- Students on the first day of school will be getting a copy of expectations regarding rules, cost for the class and what the class is all about! This sheet will be coming home for you as a parent or guardian to sign. Students in general shop class will be making a project I like to call a nightstand. The cost of this project is $75.00!!! Students will need to buy some hardware as well; like knobs, hinges or handles! Students are expected to work on their project everyday! There also will be clean-up responsibilities each day for everyone! Grades are based on work (participation) clean-up and other activities. I will also be working on reinforcing math skills and writing skills with weekly assignments. Everyday a student gets a daily grade based on working and clean-up.
Advance Shop- Students will get a sheet of class expectations on the first day!Advance shop is about building a project and cleaning up everyday! Participation is a key factor in this class. Students are expected to build a nice piece of furniture, finish it in class and pay for it!! Everyday a student will get a daily grade based on working and cleaning!
